Calendar
The Calendar includes a number of items that demonstrate the capabilities of the calendar for client websites.
- Clients can select from a master list of Holidays and Reminders, all of which are shown here. These can easily be rolled forward a year at a time in the site's Content Management System (CMS).
- To show the Daily Note, we have included the Daily Bible Reading guide available for church sites. It dynamically generates a link to the Bible passage on BibleGateway.com. This feature can be adapted to other types of "daily thoughts" from another site or the client site's database. It requires that a link can be formed from the title of the calendar item. Hover over the link for several of the readings and you'll see how the passage is inserted for each day.
- One week each month contains entries that demonstrate how calendar items can be linked to news stories, events, the media gallery, documents, and web pages (the priority order for forming the link in grid view). In list view, a line is added to the description for "additional links," with links for all available assets.
- The "Meeting (Demo)" entry demonstrates a special kind of calendar item called "Document Archive," which is used for regularly recurring events, such as a board or committee meeting. The calendar item is associated with an "archive type." The primary link on the title is automatically created when one of up to three files on a timeline is detected (i.e., notice, agenda, and minutes). In list view, up to seven links will be automatically created: up to three for the archive type documents, plus four additional assets that would regularly or frequently be associated with the event (examples include a pdf of PowerPoint notes, an audio podcast or a video.

Hints about printing the Calendar.
The best printing of the Calendar Grid view is done with the printer set to Landscape orientation. Depending on the printer and its setup, printing in Portrait orientation will either spread across two pages or reduce the size of the calendar to fit the page width, resulting in very small font size.
When printing from Calendar List view, it will print normally in Portrait orientation.
